New router or ISP
A new broadband box usually means a new Wi‑Fi name, password and sometimes a new IP range. Cameras, Ring and the alarm then need setting again. This is not a kit fault.
Why it has dropped off
The kit is still looking for the network it was set up on. A new router or a new broadband provider replaces that network. The cameras and the alarm have not failed, so do not factory-reset them.
- New Wi‑Fi name or password. Ring, the alarm and any wireless cameras remember the old name and password. They cannot join a network they have not been told about.
- New address range. Wired cameras and the recorder are often given a fixed address on the old router. A new router often uses a different range. The camera is still answering on the old address, which the new router does not use, so the recorder and the phone app cannot find it. Moving the cable is not enough when the address itself is wrong.
- The alarm is 2.4GHz only. A phone will use 5GHz and look fine. A Pyronix Enforcer cannot join 5GHz at all. If the new router hides the 2.4GHz name, or only offers 5GHz, the app and texts stop even though the Wi‑Fi in the house seems to work.
CCTV
The recorder only talks to cameras on the network it is plugged into, at the addresses it was given.
If cameras use a fixed IP, that address may need changing to match the new router. Ask the ISP if you are not sure of the new LAN range.
- Powerline — the adaptor beside the router is the link between the cameras and the broadband. Left in the old router, that link is gone. Move it to a LAN port on the new router. All three lights should be green. If not, power both ends off for 30 seconds.
- Wired — a cable still in the old router is not connected to the new one. Plug that LAN cable into the new router.
- Wireless extender — it was paired to the old Wi‑Fi, so it is repeating a network that is no longer there. Press WPS on the extender, then WPS on the new router within two minutes.
Ring
The doorbell stores the old Wi‑Fi. It will not pick up a new name on its own. The app is how you give it the new details.

Pyronix alarm
The panel can only join a 2.4GHz network. The right password on a 5GHz name still will not connect, which is why the app and texts stop. This is not a panel fault.
