Reconnecting Your Devices

When you change your Internet Service Provider (ISP), upgrade your router, or update your network settings, your connected devices might need to be reconfigured to ensure they can communicate properly with the new network.

This process is crucial for maintaining uninterrupted access to your security systems, smart devices, and other network-dependent equipment. The changes in network settings may require manual updates to the configurations of your devices, which is a standard procedure for any network change.

On this page, we provide detailed instructions for reconnecting various types of setups, including powerline, wired, and wireless connections. Additionally, we cover the steps for reconnecting popular devices such as Ring doorbells and Pyronix Enforcer alarm systems.

Option 1 - Book an Engineer Visit

It is important to note that the need to reconnect or reconfigure your devices in these scenarios is not a failure of the equipment itself and, therefore, is not covered by our warranty.

Powerline Connection

For powerline setups, connect the powerline adapter (Usually TP-Link, Tenda or Mercusys) attached to your old router to a LAN port on your new router. Ensure that all three green lights on the powerline adapter are illuminated. If not, try rebooting the system by turning the power off for 30 seconds and then turning it back on again.

Wired Connection

If your cameras are hardwired to the router, simply connect the LAN cables from your previous router to the new one.

Wireless Connection

To assist you with reconnecting your wireless extender to the new network, we've provided a helpful video tutorial below. This video will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring that your wireless extender is quickly and easily reconnected to enhance your network coverage.

Alternatively, written instructions are available here:

  • Locate your wireless extender (usually TP-Link) and press the WPS button on the extender.
  • Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your new router.
  • Wait for the extender to establish a connection with the router. The lights on the extender will indicate when the connection is successful.
  • If not, try rebooting the system by turning the power off for 30 seconds and then turning it back on again.
