Maintenance

Critical systems

Keep it working. Don’t wait for it to fail.

Alarms, cameras and recorders only protect a site if they work the night you need them. Planned maintenance finds the flat battery, the dirty lens and the full disk before that night arrives.

A booked visit is cheaper, calmer and easier to prove than a call-out after a break-in — or after you discover nothing recorded.

Maintain

Look after the system

A short, booked visit while everything still looks fine. We test it, clean it, replace what is due, and leave you a record.

  • You choose the day. No panic, no overnight wait.
  • Parts are agreed before we fit them.
  • You have a note for the insurer and for your own files.
  • We can remind you before the next service is due.

React

Wait until something goes wrong

The system can look healthy for months. The first you know is a silent alarm, a blank playback, or a claim with no footage.

  • Call-outs cost more and take longer to diagnose.
  • A failed disk or battery is already in the past.
  • Insurers often ask when the system was last serviced.
  • You cannot recover a night that was never recorded.

Why a working system is the point

It has to work on the night

An alarm that does not sound, or cameras that did not record, is not a security system. Maintenance is how you know it still will.

Evidence and insurance

Clear pictures and a service record matter after an incident. A yearly alarm visit is what many policies already expect.

Sites that cannot go dark

Shops, yards, offices and homes rely on this kit every day. Planned visits keep it in service instead of waiting for a fault to stop it.

How often we recommend

Enough to catch wear before it becomes a failure. Not so often that you are paying for visits you do not need.

  • Intruder alarms
At least once a year. Insurance often expects an annual service.
  • CCTV and cameras
One to two times a year. Twice if cameras are outdoors or in dusty, busy sites.

We look after the systems we fitted

Homes and businesses, nationwide from the Midlands. If another firm installed it, tell us the make — we work on most common alarm and CCTV brands.

Alarm service — yearly

A panel can look fine until a sensor battery dies or the backup battery will not hold a charge. We test it while it still can.

  • Walk-test detectors, contacts and the siren
  • Check and replace backup and sensor batteries as needed
  • Confirm keyfobs, pads and the app still arm and disarm
  • Check signalling, Wi‑Fi or ethernet and any remote alerts
  • Leave a record of the visit for your files or insurer

CCTV service — 1–2 times a year

Cameras keep recording until they do not: dirty domes, a full disk, drifted time stamps or night vision that has failed.

  • Clean lenses and housings; check brackets and weather seals
  • Confirm each camera is recording, day and night
  • Check the recorder, storage health and time/date
  • Confirm you can still view live and playback on a phone or PC
  • Firmware and cabling / PoE where it is safe to do so

What a visit looks like

  1. You tell us the make of the system if you know it, and anything that has been playing up. We work on most common alarm and CCTV brands.
  2. An engineer attends, tests the system, and puts right what we can on the day.
  3. If a part needs ordering, we agree that with you before we fit it.
  4. You get a clear note of what was checked and what, if anything, still needs doing.

Book planned maintenance

Keep the system in service. We can set a reminder for the next visit so it does not slip to a call-out later.
