Walk test

A walk test checks that doors and PIRs still report. The alarm stays unset — you are not doing a full set.

  1. The alarm must be unset. Close the doors and windows you will test, so each one can open cleanly.
  2. Press D, then enter the master manager code (or present the manager tag). On some systems a normal user code opens a shorter User Menu that still has walk test.
  3. Press NO until you see WALK TEST, then YES.
  4. Select one area only (usually A for the whole house). Press YES to test the zones in that area, or pick a single zone if it offers that.
  5. The display cycles through the zones still to test. Open each door, or walk in front of each PIR, until that zone drops off the list.
  6. When the keypad shows Walk Test Complete, you are done. Press A on a main menu title to leave.

If a zone never leaves the list, that door or PIR did not report. Try again, then tell us the zone name. A flashing ALERT light first? See unable to set.
