Maintenance

Already have a system?

Keep the kit you already have working

We look after existing alarm and camera systems — including ones we did not install. Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) catches flat batteries, dirty lenses, failed hard drives and sensors that no longer report, before you need them.

A short, booked visit is cheaper than finding out on the day of a break-in that nothing recorded, or that the alarm did not sound.

How often we recommend

  • Intruder alarms
At least once a year. Insurance often expects an annual service.
  • CCTV and cameras
One to two times a year. Twice if cameras are outdoors or in dusty, busy sites.

Alarm service — yearly

A panel that has not been tested can look fine until a sensor battery dies or the backup battery will not hold a charge.

  • Walk-test detectors, contacts and the siren
  • Check and replace backup and sensor batteries as needed
  • Confirm keyfobs, pads and the app still arm and disarm
  • Check signalling, Wi‑Fi or ethernet and any remote alerts
  • Leave a record of the visit for your files or insurer

CCTV service — 1–2 times a year

Cameras keep recording until they do not: dirty domes, a full disk, drifted time stamps or night vision that has failed.

  • Clean lenses and housings; check brackets and weather seals
  • Confirm each camera is recording, day and night
  • Check the recorder, storage health and time/date
  • Confirm you can still view live and playback on a phone or PC
  • Firmware and cabling / PoE where it is safe to do so

What a visit looks like

  1. You tell us the make of the system if you know it, and any faults. We work on most common alarm and CCTV brands.
  2. An engineer attends, tests the system, and puts right what we can on the day.
  3. If a part needs ordering, we agree that with you before we fit it.
  4. You get a clear note of what was checked and what, if anything, still needs doing.
