Mains and battery faults
A flashing ALERT light means the keypad has a fault to show you. Enter a code or present a tag to read the words.
- Look for the flashing ALERT light. The time may still be on the screen.
- Enter a valid code, or present a tag (a keyfob unset also shows the fault). Press NO if more than one message is listed.
- Read the display. Common power messages are MAINS FAIL, BATTERY FAULT, or a named detector with a battery warning.
- MAINS FAIL — the panel has lost its usual power. Check the fused spur or plug that feeds it. After a power cut the clock can be wrong; it usually catches up if Wi‑Fi is on.
- BATTERY FAULT — the backup battery in the panel needs attention. Do not ignore it. The alarm may not last through the next power cut. We replace that pack.
- A wireless device battery — a door contact, PIR or fob is warning you. We replace that pack. Leaving it leads to a supervision fault and a device that stops reporting.
Do not open the panel or a detector yourself. Do not force a set if the fault is still there. Open doors and other faults are on unable to set. App or SMS gone after a router change? See new Wi‑Fi on the alarm.
If mains is back and the message is still there, or you see BATTERY FAULT, send us the words on the display.
