Answer the doorbell
When someone presses the button, the app can show live video so you can speak to them.
- Allow notifications for the Ring app on the phone (iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Ring. Android: App info → Notifications).
- When the doorbell rings, tap the notification, or open the Ring app and tap the doorbell on the dashboard.
- Tap Live View to see the camera.
- Use the microphone control to talk, and keep the volume up so you can hear them.
- End the visit when you are done.
Live view and saved clips
Watching live and answering the button works in the app. Event History (saved clips) and some extras such as Smart Alerts need a Ring Protect plan. That is billed by Ring, not by us.
No ding on the phone? Check Ring Alerts on the device in the app, and that the doorbell is online. See motion and alerts or offline or new Wi‑Fi.
