Offline or new Wi‑Fi

A new router, a weak signal at the front door, or a flat battery will take the doorbell offline. This is not usually a hardware fault.

Reconnect in the app

  1. Charge a battery doorbell if the level is low. See charge the battery.
  2. Stand next to the doorbell with the phone. Turn off any VPN.
  3. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  4. Tap the menu (☰), then Devices, then the doorbell.
  5. Tap the Device Health tile.
  6. Under Network, tap Reconnect or Change Network and follow the prompts.
  7. When asked, press the setup button so the light spins white, then pick your Wi‑Fi and enter the password.

If the app cannot join the temporary Ring network, open the phone’s Wi‑Fi settings and pick Ring- or Ring Setup, then go back to the app.

If it still will not stay online
